Hi there! welcome to my take on album reviews from the past to the present, i hope you will enjoy this post.
And today i`m going to review 5 top great albums of my favourites.
Starting off! with a bang its "Bruce Springsteen Darkness on The Edge Of Town" the most controversial, hard hiting, less commercial album this time around from Bruce Springsteen. Healing from the huge success from"Born To Run(1975)" brought a different field to it, but had its same roots as Born To Run did. For me as a music junkie/music geek whatever i call myself next week, this album was very inspirational to me. When i first heard the track "Something in the Night" which runs for a good (5:11 minutes). I adimaly fell in love with the record, it was so beautiful pleasantness. It was like i was in a deep sleep dreaming away into my wildest dreams, All i picture is this magical paradise place. I did recently listen to "Darkness on The Edge Of Town" on LP Vinyl, i must say! fantastic it sounds really amazing, sweet.
But during this time while making "Darkness on The Edge Of Town" Bruce Springteen and his band were having rough times. Basically they were battling contractual obligations with former manager Mike Appel.
The band worked day and night, rehearsal, rehersal, rehersal. Bruce wanted it to sound more aggressively, powerful, screaming on the top of his lungs getting words within the music. Drums wasn`t loud enough?.. play again said Bruce. This shows Bruce Springsteen is a hard competitor and loves what his does best, and that is to play and write music. The album reached #5 on "U.S Billboard Pop Albums", which is a pretty good position for a follower up album from "Born To Run". In 1985 the rocknroll album came striking back in the charts but this time on the "U.S Billboard Hot 200" at 167 #. Overall musical performance 10/10 such an rollercoaster ride of an album, if you havented heard of Bruce Springsteen before?.. i would you to check out "Born To Run(album)" and this one "Darkness on The Edge Of Town".
Now boys & girls were gonna move onto our second album review
critical acclaim one of the greatest albums ever made by any musician in the whole world. His name was "John Lennon". Now we all know John started his outstanding music career with "The Beatles"(known as the fab four). The Beatles was an international phenomenon pop/rock band from Liverpool, England.
Sooner or later the whole world will be screaming at their feet. The year was 1964 the four lads(John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison) took America by storm!, including appearing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" which gained media attention and their honest god bleeding fans. Watched by approximately 73 million viewers in over 23 million households
34 percent of the American population, now that is a big number folks! imagine all them people watching "The Ed Sullivan Show" when the Beatles were performing on the show, nuts!. It wasnt long intill "The Beatles" got sick and tired of one another, sadly broke up in the year "1970".
But John on the other hand, had an incredible plan to movie to "New York City" with his wife "Yoko Ono".
Yoko was also a talented singer/musician. She released her solo album "Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band" which did alright in the charts, but failed success in the United Kingdom.
Still to this day John Lennon most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music, inspiring and electric!.
Imagine(1971) an album which every record collector should have by now, if you dont you should be ashamed of yourself. This album made me cry, gave me happiness. Apart from the 10 songs on the album, they are fucking legendary awesome songwriting material ever made. Some of the basic tracks for "Imagine" was made at his home studio. As a songwriter myself, whenever i`m feeling down and depressed i go listen to a couple of John Lennon records. The Album really shows peace, loving and gentleness. And for those who know "Imagine" is also a song on the album itself, the song runs for (3:03). The song is the most played and influential around the whole world. Lennon & Yoko co-produced the song, and also Phil Spector.
Did you know? the song reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971, but on the otherside of atlantic "United Kingdom" reached a smashing #1 hit in the charts.
Thanks for reading part 1 of my album reviews, see you next time!
